626 schoolteachers’ posts vacant

SWABI, Dec 5: At least 626 posts of teachers are vacant in the government schools in the district, which is affecting the studies and creating administrative problems.

Sources said on Friday that the vacant positions included 23 of principals and headmasters and four of vice-principals.

They said the delay in the appointments and promotions was hampering the educational activities in the schools.

There are four higher secondary schools for  boys and three for girls, 64 high schools for boys and 23 for girls, an English medium school, 64 middle schools for boys and 31 for girls, four model schools, 526 primary schools for boys and 407 for girls and 10 community model schools in the district.

A higher secondary school, 53 high schools, 62 middle schools and 98 primary schools are functioning in the private sector.

The sources said 65 posts of men and five women CT teachers and 38 of Arabic teachers, seven of men and 30 of women physical education teachers had not been filled. They said 15 posts of theology teachers, 21 of drawing masters and nine of Qaris were vacant.
