KARACHI, Dec 5: Leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Friday, criticizing the poor law and order situation in the province, accused the government of failing to ensure safety and security to the life and property of people.
Talking to newsmen in his chambers, Mr Khuhro termed the law and order situation ‘extremely critical’ and claimed that the government was neglecting its responsibilities.
He said that owing to concerns over security, foreign investment was not coming and domestic investors were shying away from making investment.
He accused the government of avoiding judicial inquiries in various incidents of terrorism. In this context, he also referred to the explosion at a gas station in Defence.
He said the amount meant for allocation to sugar mills’ owners for further disbursement to Abadgars, as pledged by the concerned minister, had not yet been allocated. As a consequence, he added, growers were facing difficulty as their dues had not been paid to them.
Mr Khuhro accused the government of resorting to politics of vengeance and vowed to continue the campaign against the Greater Thal Canal and LFO.
Another PPP leader, Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman was also not satisfied with law and order situation in the province. He said that PPP would remain committed to the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution as well as opposition to the LFO.
