KARACHI: Two die of burns

KARACHI, Dec 5: Mohammad Yasin, who had suffered burns on Dec 1 when a fire broke out because of a leaky gas cylinder, died on Friday. According to the Darakshan police, the 30-year-old man was taken first to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and then to the Civil Hospital Karachi.

Khurram Masih, 30, who sustained burns injuries while making tea on Dec 2 in Nasiri Colony, died on Friday. According to the Surjani Town police, he was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

ACCIDENT:A pedestrian, Matlub Ansari, died on Friday when a Suzuki Hiroof (CN-3375) hit him and overturned afterwards. According to the Gulberg police, the 55-year-old man died near the waterpump in Federal B Area.

BODY FOUND: The police found a decomposed body on Friday in Askari Town near Ghousia Mosque in an area governed by the Shah Latif Town police station. The residents of the locality had reported to the police that the smell of decomposing body had been coming from a house. The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The dead was identified as Mohammad Alam, aged 35. His body was handed over to the Edhi mortuary.

The Boat Basin police found the body of a drug addict near the Abdullah Shah Ghazi tomb on Friday. The body, which was thought to be of a 35-year-old man, was handed over to the Edhi mortuary.

WOUNDED: A shopkeeper, Mohammad Wali, was wounded in Muzaffarabad Colony when an unidentified customer fired at him after being refused goods on credit.

ROBBED: The Ferozabad police said that armed men had taken away Rs500,000 at gunpoint from Ghazala Qadri on Tariq Road on Friday.

ARRESTS: The Rizvia police said they had arrested an activist of the outlawed Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan, Raza Ashrafi, on Friday near the Shamim Shaheed police post after a shootout. They said three accomplices of the accused had fled. They added that they had recovered one kilogramme gold jewellery, a TT pistol and a bike from him.
