UK embassy to issue more visas soon

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Dec 4: UK embassy in Pakistan has decided to increase its visa issuing capacity in the near future, said British High Commissioner Mark Lyall Grant here on Thursday.

In a meeting with Interior Minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, he hoped that the change in the UK visa policy would facilitate more Pakistanis, a source in the ministry said.

The envoy expressed his government’s satisfaction over the overall security conditions in Pakistan with particular reference to the security of the British nationals.

“The resumption of British Airways’ fights to Pakistan is a clear manifestation of the growing trust of international community in Pakistan’s security conditions,” he maintained.

Mr Hayat said both the countries were peace-loving nations and enjoyed good diplomatic relations.

Issues like war on terrorism, human smuggling and narcotics control were also discussed in the backdrop of British home minister’s forthcoming visit to Pakistan.
