KHAIRPUR, Dec 4: A man, Sohrab Kurio, lodged an FIR with the Ahmedpur police station against nine persons for criminally assaulting two women on Wednesday night.

According to the FIR, accused Sobho, Dildar, Majid, Mohammad Ali, Aslam, Raheem Bux, all by caste Khoso, and three unknown persons barged into the house of the complainant and criminally assaulted two women at gun-point.

The Ahmedpur police have arrested one of the accused, Dildar Khoso.

DROWNED: Two men, Gul Mohammad Bhatti and Shamsuddin, drowned on Wednesday night when their camel-cart loaded with sugar cane overturned and fell into a pond.

Both the men were on their way to the Ranipur Sugar Mills to sell sugar cane. The bodies were shifted to the Wali Mohammad Bhatti village on Thursday.

INJURED: Two people were injured in a clash between two rival groups in the Aliabad Wassan village, near Ranipur, on the National Highway on Thursday.

Bricks and sticks were used in the clash as a result Rehmat and his brother Bakkat Jogi were injured.

Meanwhile, two men, identified as Rabnawaz Kalhoro and Dhani Bux Kalhoro, received axe injuries in a clash between two groups in Ranipur on Wednesday.

DEMO:Employees of the irrigation division of Khairpur continued their protest on Wednesday to press for the acceptance of their demands. They staged a token hunger strike.
