Senate session on 5th

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Dec 2: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has summoned the session of the Senate on Friday, says a notification issued by the Senate secretariat here on Tuesday.

The notification says President Gen Pervez Musharraf, in exercise of the powers under Article 54(1) of the Constitution, has summoned the Senate to meet on Friday at 3pm.

This will be the sixth session of the Senate since its inaugural session of March 12. In the past nine months, it has met for only 28 days. Under the rules, the Senate is required to remain in session for a minimum 90 days in a calendar year, which means in the next 100 days, the Senate is required to be in session for 62 days.
