Bail of MPA, his brother extended

GUJRANWALA, Dec 2: The Lahore High Court extended interim bail of an MPA and his brother involved in a murder case up to Dec 18 as police could not produce record on Tuesday.

MPA Muddassar Qayyum Nahara and his brother Mazhar were nominated in the murder of Naushera Virkan Market Committee vice-chairman Iftikhar Ahmad. They got interim bail from a sessions court. Later the sessions court rejected their bail application when they could not pursue it.

They moved the high court which extended their bail and ordered police to produce record on next date of hearing.

FACTORY FIRE: A factory was reduced to ashes in a fire at Alam Chowk on Tuesday.

It is reported that fire broke out in the thread manufacturing factory of Nadeem Butt due to short circuit. The fire engulfed the whole factory within no time. It destroyed everything before fire brigade could control it.

The loss is estimated to be in millions of rupees.

STABBED: A youth was stabbed to death by three people over a minor issue in Nat Kalan, Ghakkhar, on Tuesday.

Police said Nawaz was called out of his house by accused Faisal, Asif and Shafqat. They took him some distance away and attacked him with an axe and knives and escaped after killing him on the spot.

It is stated that Nawaz had a quarrel with accused Faisal a few days ago over a trivial issue.
