English made compulsory, says minister


ISLAMABAD, Dec 2: Federal Education Minister Zobaida Jalal said on Tuesday a uniform curriculum has been prepared for primary level education throughout the country.

Talking to reporters at the PML House here, she said English has been made compulsory from class-I.

The minister informed that a programme for training of teachers is being started in collaboration with US Aid.

To a question, the education minister said a bill to stop violence against children in educational institutions would be presented in parliament.—APP
