KARACHI, Dec 2: Mazhar Abbas has been elected unopposed president of the Karachi Union of Journalists for 2003-04.
All the office-bearers were elected unopposed after the other contestants withdrew.
The other office-bearers are: vice presidents Ajiz Jamali and Saeed Sarbazi, General Secretary Fazil Jamili, Treasurer Syed Minhaj-ur-Rab, joint secretaries Jawed Choudhry and Zulfiqar Ali Shah.
The members of the Executive Council are: Akhtar Hussain Soomro, Haroon Khalid, Kalbe Ali, Masroor Afzal Pasha, M. Qasim Rajpar, Shahid Ghazali, and Shakil Yamin Kanga.
The general council meeting of the KUJ will be held on Dec 15.—APP
