Constitution of CCI demanded

KARACHI, Dec 2: Sindh National Front Chairman Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto on Tuesday called for the formation of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) to clean up the administration, the judiciary and the legislature.

In a statement issued here, he said turncoats and dishonest people should be ousted from the political field.

He said only an independent Election Commission with impartial officials could conduct free and fair election.

Mr Bhutto deplored that Sindh had been subjected to highhandedness and said the success of any of the current frontline aspirants for the chief minister’s post would be an insult to the province.

“The urgent need is to wind up the failed system and constitute the Council of Common Interests,” he said.

He said safety of people was the most urgent requirement. He challenged those expressing satisfaction over the law and order situation to travel in the province with the escort of the law-enforcement agencies. —PPI
