Karo-kari claims three more lives

DADU, Dec 1: Two women among three persons were killed on the pretext of Karo-kari in two different incidents here on Monday.

Hussain Bux Lund shot dead his wife, Bano, 30, and his relative, Manzoor Lund, 21.

The bodies were handed

over to the relatives after autopsy at the Bhan Saeedabad Hospital.

The Saeedabad police, on the complaint of Zulfiqar Ali Lund, brother of the deceased woman, registered an FIR against Bux.

Ghulam Haider shot his sister, Nusrat, dead in the Laung Rahujo village.

On the complaint of Mohammad Waris Rahujo, father of the deceased, the Rukkan police registered a case under section against Haider.

DEMO: A large number of political activists and social workers held a protest demonstration in Sehwan against the medical superintendent of the Bhan Saeedabad Hospital for issuing wrong certificate of fracture to a person.

They were led by the taluka president of the Pakistan People’s Party-SB, Ayub Solangi, taluka president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Ahsan Rind, and Abadgar Ittehad president Inaam Channa.

Two of the protesters, belonging to the Rodhnani tribe, attempted self-immolation by sprinkling kerosene on their bodies. However, the other protesters saved them.

Talking to the demonstrators, Mr Solangi said the medical superintendent and other hospital staff had issued wrong certificate to a Rodhnani tribesman after a clash between two groups of the tribe over a matrimonial matter in the Bhan Saeedabad town.

Mr Channa said a medical board should be constituted to investigate the matter.

Gul Sher Rodhnani said the MS had demanded Rs20,000 and on refusal he issued the medical certificate of a fracture to the man.
