Chinese leader to meet PM, president

BEIJING, Nov 30: Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Chairman Jia Qinglin will arrive here on a four-day visit on Wednesday.

A Chinese official told APP here that the visit was signi-ficant in view of the growing Sino-Pakistan relationship and the recent social and political developments in the region.

Mr Jia is scheduled to meet President Gen Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain.

“We believe that the visit will deepen the long-term stable, future-oriented friendly cooperation and push the bilateral relations to a new height,” the official said.

He said China was looking forward to building a comprehensive partnership in all areas of bilateral interest.

The leader will be accompanied by senior members of the conference.

He is also a member of the top decision-making body of the Communist Party of China.
