Ahmad slams double hat trick

LAHORE, Oct 29: A double hat trick by Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana enabled Millat Tractors to beat High Noon 6-4 and a last gasp goal by Agha Murtaza helped Security-2000 beat Ravi Autos 4-3 in the Guard Rice polo tournament on Wednesday.

Ahmad slammed two goals in the first chukker to help Millat gain a 2-0 lead. But High Noon’s Kashif Jamal, who scored all four goals, brought his side back in the match by completing his hat trick in the  second  chukker.

He converted two 30-yards penalty hits and then crowned a field attempt to make it 3-2.

On offensive, Kashif banged home his fourth goal at the  start of the third chukker to extend the lead 4-2.

Thereafter, Ahmad dominated the  proceedings with three goals in a row to complete his second hat trick.

Ahmad scored back to back goals to level the score 4-4 by the end of the third chukker. He cashed in on a 30 yards penalty hit to  score  his third and then a 30 yard penalty to earn  fourth goal.

In the  final chukker Ahmad’s back to back goal  sealed  the fate of the match.

In the other match, Ravi Autos went ahead when Saqib Khakwani drew first blood converting a 60 yards penalty hit. But Security 2000 roared back  and finished off the first chukker with 2-1 lead.

Shaukat struck after a long chase to restore the parity. Agha Murtaza scored his first through 30 yards penalty hit.

Murtaza further increased the lead 3-1 by  scoring  his second goal in the beginning of the second chukker.

He converted a 30 yards penalty. But Saqib scored his second for Ravi Autos through a 40 yards penalty hit to reduce the margin 3-2.

Saqib scored his third goal which was also the lone goal  of the third chukker.That goal put both the teams on even keel  (3- 3).

However, Murtaza stole the limelight by  scoring  the match winner 4-3 by converting a spot penalty near the goal post.
