Two killed in robbery attempt

By Our Staff Correspondent

FAISALABAD, Nov 29: A robber and an inmate of a house were shot dead during exchange of fire between the gangsters and public at Momanabad in Factory Area police station precinct, on Saturday night.

Reports said three masked men stormed into Ghulam Mursaleen’s house at Momanabad and started looting valuables.

The inmates raised an alarm and gathered area people, who encircled the house. Seeing this, the intruders opened an indiscriminate fire and tried to escape, but the public returned fire.

In an exchange of fire, Ghulam Safdar, a cousin of Mursaleen, and one of the robbers were injured. The other two outlaws managed to escape on a car. The injured were taken to the DHQ Hospital where they died due to excessive bleeding.

Area police, along with special patrolling squads, combed the area for the arrest of bandits. However, no clue to the robbers could be found.
