KARACHI, Nov 29: Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkil Qazi has taken notice of the violence at Clifton on Thursday and role of police in the affair. He has sought a report about the incident from DCO and city police chief.

According to a statement, the CS took a serious note of the reports that the area police had accepted bribe to allow the organizers of a ‘variety show’ to hold the programme.

He directed the concerned authorities to take legal action against those involved in the violence.

Meanwhile, Dr Qazi has directed transport secretary and traffic police to make arrangements for the fixing of speed limit for the public transport. He was astonished to learn that the coach, that met an accident at Lasbela on Thursday afternoon, had reached there from Tower bust stop in just eight minutes.

He has also sought a report on the banning of the entry of women into the Clifton’s playland during three-days of Eid. — APP
