LAHORE, Nov 25: Pakistan junior hockey team coach, Asif Bajwa, said on Tuesday that next month’s home series against Malaysia will help strengthen the junior side.
“Playing Malaysia and Pakistan senior team will add to the confidence and exposure of the juniors who are fast coming up”, he said.
Asif said such ventures which involve playing foreign teams at home were beneficial for the youngsters who preferred to play at home under favourable conditions at the beginning of their career.
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) had planned a five-nation junior tournament at Karachi, in December, but most of the teams declined to take part due to security reasons which resulted in the cancellation of the event.
PHF as a second option invited Malaysia for playing a series to which they agreed.—APP
