Benazir greets Muslims on Eid

ISLAMABAD, Nov 25: Former prime minister and chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party Benazir Bhutto has extend greetings to all Muslims, particularly her Pakistani brothers and sisters, on the eve of Eidul Fitr.

In her message on the occasion, she said: “As we rejoice on this joyous occasion, let us also pray that the dark days of manipulation by the dictators will soon be over so that the problems confronting the people can be addressed in an environment of rule of Law, constitution and representative governance.

“Let us bow our heads in gratitude to Allah for blessing us with the bounties of the holy month of Ramazan. May Allah in His infinite mercy grant our supplications and guide us to imbibe the spirit of Ramazan throughout the year.

“On this occasion, let us also spare a thought for our less fortunate brethren who, squeezed by poverty and deprivation, are condemned to a life of misery and sufferings.

“A true joy can be felt only when it is widely and genuinely shared with many.

On this day, therefore, let us pledge to strive to help the needy and the poor, alleviate their sufferings and enable them to participate in the festivities of Eid.”
