Pak Gym capture trophy

KARACHI, Nov 24: Pak Gymkhana won the Karachi Gymkhana Habib Ramazan trophy beating three-time champions Tapal CC by six wickets on Monday.

Tapal except for a dashing knock of 75 runs by Atiq uz Zaman were bowled out for 186.

Needing 187 for win Pak Gymkhana made no mistake and raced to 190 for the loss of four wickets in 22.3 overs.

Pak Gymkhana received Rs 1,70,000 while Tapal CC got Rs 85,000. Afsar Nawaz and Atif Maqbool of Pak Gymkhana pocketed Rs.5000.00, each for being the Best Batsman and Best Bowler of the tournament.

Nadeem Shaikh of A.O.CC and Kamran Hussain of Sindh Police got Rs.5,000 each for being voted Best Fielder and Wicket-keeper in the competition.

Kamran Hussain of Sindh Police also received a cash award of Rs.10.000 for being the Player-of-the-Tournament.

Afsar Nawaz of Pak Gymkhnana received a cash amount of Rs.3000.00 for being the Man- of-the-Match in the final.

RSCC lift cup

Rafiq Shirazi CC (RSCC) won the First Ramazan Super Cup beating Sheikh XI with ease in the final on Monday.

Sheikh XI were restricted to 134 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 25 allotted overs.

Off-spinner Tahir Khan, backed up with some splendid fielding, picked up four wickets for 24 runs in his five-over spell.

Nadeem Tariq top scored for his side with 55 runs.

Chasing 135 for victory, RSCC reached the target in 19.2 overs losing one wicket with Hasan Raza (65 not out) and Imtiaz Safdar (55) made the scoring look easy.

Hussain CC in final

An unbeaten 114 studded with 12 fours and a six by Faisal Iqbal, coupled with some fine bowling by Aleem and Omar, helped put M.Hussain CC (MHCC) into the final of the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Festival, beating United Sports by 63 runs on Monday.

MHCC amassed 220 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 25 overs. Zafar slammed seven boundaries and two huge sixes in his 40-ball innings.

United Sports were shot out for 157 runs in 22 overs. M. Akram top scored for his side with 38. Medium pacer Aleem Musa four for 39 and Omar Farooqi three for 25 bowled well for the winners.

Tuesday’s fixture: Pak Gymkhana v MHCC (final) 1.00 p.m.
