KARACHI, Nov 24: Police have been directed to intensify security around all mosques, imambargahs, and the open places meant for Eid prayers, as well as at public places and recreational spots, during Eid days.

The directives have been issued by provincial police chief Syed Kamal Shah, a spokesman for police said on Monday.

Mr Shah has directed the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and regional police officers of Hyderabad and Sukkur to ensure peaceful observance of Eid by citizens throughout the province.

He laid special emphasis on foolproof security arrangements in and around all the places of worship, including Eidgahs and ordered deployment of police personnel at the buildings and open plots surrounding the Eidgahs to avert or meet any eventuality.
