MIRPURKHAS: Municipal workers continue strike

MIRPURKHAS, Nov 24: The municipal employees, including the sanitary staff, of the taluka administration continued their strike on Sunday against the non-payment of their salaries.

Heaps of garbage have accumulated in Hirabad, Thomasabad, Hameedpura, Jamnadas Colony, Lalchandabad, Nai Para, Khar Para, Ishaq Colony, Pak Colony, Rajar Colony, Baloch Para, Toarabad, Dholanabad, Gharibabad and New Town.

The TMA has failed to resolve the issue of the delay in payament of salary on the pretext of paucity of funds.

A meeting of the executive committee of municipal employees union on Friday had decided to continue strike till the acceptance of a seven-point charter of demands.

The meeting condemned SHO, Town police station, Ayub Dars, for using abusive language against the sanitary workers.

notices: The special banking court-I Hyderabad, has issued show cause notices to nine defaulter landlords for non- payment of Rs4 million loan taken from the Muslim Commercial Bank.

Talking to journalists here on Sunday, the MCB recovery inspector, Raja Hidayat Khan, said the landlords included former MPA Hariram Kishori Lal, Khuda Bux Rajar, Mohammad Khan Bhurgari, Mohammad Khan Rajar, Abdul Rehman Rajar, Zulfiqar Ali Junejo, Abdul Khaliq Gaho, Choudhry Mohammad Rashid, Din Mohammad Arain and Dharnomal.

ARRESTED: The police arrested one of the escaped under trial prisoners, Fateh Khoso, from Samaro town the other day.

He had escaped from the sub jail Umerkot with four prisoners four days back after overpowering a jail official.

Other escapees included Wali Mohammad Chandio, Akram Arain, and Mohan Meghwar.

Six police officials, including the in charge of the jail, were suspended and arrested by the Umerkot police.
