KARACHI: Elderly man dies in accident

KARACHI, Nov 24: An elderly man died in a hit-and-run accident in Gadap on Monday.

Police said that Miran, 65, was knocked down by an unknown speeding vehicle near Toll Plaza on Super Highway within the limits of Gadap police station.

His body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

BODY FOUND: The body of a young woman was washed ashore at Clifton beach.

Police said that the body of Afsheen, 25, was found at the Clifton beach near Sindbad. Quoting the statement of the victim’s father, Mukhtar, police said that Afsheen had went somewhere for interview in connection with job, however, she did not return to her home in Nazimabad.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. Police suspected that the young woman might have committed suicide. However, her postmortem examination report was reserved till the receipt of the chemical report.

CRUSHED: An unknown man died after being crushed beneath a locomotive near Drig Road railway station.

Police said that unknown man was crossing the railway tracks when he got crushed beneath the train. Police shifted the body to the JPMC, later it was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification.
