RAWALPINDI, Nov 23: A teenage girl suffered serious burns when she was set on fire by two brothers after forcibly entering her house at Dhoke Jhang, Adiala, on Sunday, police said.

The victim, 14, was in her house when two boys, identified by her as Arshad and his brother Sheeraz, entered the house and started teasing her. As she called the people for help, the boys doused her in kerosene and set her on fire and managed to escape.

On hearing her screams, the people from the neighbouring houses rushed to her rescue and shifted her to RGH.

Gohar Sultan, the father of the girl, lodged an FIR with the police stating that his daughter was alone at home when two boys entered his house and assaulted his daughter. When she forbade them, they set her on fire and escaped.

According to the hospital authorities, the girl is more than 50 per cent burnt. Police said they were searching for the accused.
