SHO summoned for illegal detention

By Our Correspondent

SIALKOT, Nov 23: A local court bailiff on Sunday raided the Daska Sadar police station and recovered three persons — Nasir, Abdul Razzaq and Ejaz — kept there in illegal detention.

Taking a serious notice, the DSJ summoned the SHO to appear before court with complete record on Monday (today).

Meanwhile on the orders of Pasrur ADSJ Tariq Mehmood Iqbal, the Badiana police registered a case against former Phalora SHO Arif Khan and 25 other accused. They had trespassed the house of landlord Chaudhry Anwar in Badiana village and severely tortured him and his family members, including women and children.

However, no arrest has so far been made in this regard.

Similarly, on the orders of Sialkot DSJ, the Hajipura police registered a case against its ex-SHO Ejaz Ahmad and three industrialists for thrashing severely exporter Masood Khan and keeping him in illegal detention.

Moreover, Sialkot DPO Nisar Ahmad Saroya suspended Phalora SHO Abdul Rehman for not knowing about a dacoity incident at the house of farmer Rehmat Ali in Chobara village.

Inspector Waqar Javaid Bhatti of Police Lines has been appointed as Phalora SHO.

Four unidentified armed dacoits barged into Rehmat’s house at sehri and held the inmates hostage. They collected ornaments, cash and other valuables worth Rs100,000 and escaped with the booty.

THWARTED: Pakistan security forces on Sunday thwarted another major Indian attempt of fencing in the Sialkot working boundary’s Jammu-Saamba-Akhnoor and Zafarwal-Shakargarh-Narowal sector.

Sources said the Indian troops had started fencing the working boundary early Sunday morning.
