NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 23: The members of the taluka council have demanded that funds should be provided to complete projects abandoned due to financial lapses.
Speaking at the council session here on Saturday, Naib Nazim, union council, Padidan, Rana Nisar; Naib Nazim, Phul UC, Khalid Memon; and Naib Nazims, Mithiani and Abran UCs, demanded that roads should be constructed and old ones repaired in their areas.
Rana Nisar complained about poor sanitary condition of Padidan town. He was informed by the TMO that there were only seven sanitary workers and the taluka council had no funds for their salary.
Naib Nazim, Naushahro Feroze UC, Raheem Abbasi, said that Rs17.5 million was allocated for the drainage project of the town but the scheme was not properly carried out by the public health engineering.
He said that the scheme was handed over to the taluka council in January but no action was taken against the PHE official.
Aleem Mari said that the education department officials were inspecting primary schools while informing teachers beforehand, providing an opportunity to absentee teachers to attend the school only on the inspection day.
The Mithiani and Phul UCs Naib Nazims complained about the lack of medicines at the rural health centre and basic health units. They said that poor patients were suffering due to unavailability of medicines.
The TMO informed the members that an amount of Rs60 million of the district council was lapsed in June due to non completion of works as tenders were called in June.
