ISLAMABAD, Nov 22: Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) has announced that no prime time (day time) rate would be applicable during Eid holidays from November 25-30.

An official of the PTCL on Saturday said during these holidays only evening time and night time rates would be applicable.

He said to facilitate the subscribers, evening time (half rate) would be applicable from 7.00 a.m. to 9.30 p.m while night time (quarter rate) will start from 9.30 p.m to 7.00 a.m.

The official said the Company had recently announced tariff relief package regarding line rent, installation charges and duration of local calls.

The relief package prepared under the instructions of the president and the prime minister was in addition to the relief, the Company had already announced by reducing domestic call rates by 15 per cent and international call rates by 23 per cent.

The organization had announced Rs100 reduction in line rent, installation charges from Rs1850 to Rs1350 in urban areas and from Rs1850 to Rs500 in rural areas. The Company also announced to double the duration of the local calls from the existing 5 minutes to 10 minutes during off-peak hours from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The 33 per cent cut in Pakistan Telecommunication Company line rent and major cut in installation charges for urban and rural areas would have Rs6-7 billion impact on the Company’s revenues.

HELP-LINE: Meanwhile, Islamabad Telecom Region (ITR) has announced that help-line service 111-900-900 or 106 will remain operative during Eid holidays from November 26 to 29 from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.

An official of ITR Saturday said special duties had been assigned and one duty officer along with the allied staff would be available to attend the customers calls regarding telephone complaints and information. The service is in addition to normal facility of “18” complaint service, he added. — APP
