Stray dog bites six

NAWABSHAH, Nov 19: Six people were bitten by a stray dog in Manuabad area of city on Wednesday.

The victims — Fozia, 35, Zeeshan, 4, Haleema ,3, Ghoso, 1, Safia, 35, and Fazla, 30 — were shifted to the Peoples Medical College Hospital where they were administered anti- rabies vaccine. The dog was shot dead by the police.

Population of stray dogs has increased here and several groups of such dogs are roaming freely everywhere in the city.

Dr Mumtaz at the casualty department of PMCH said at least 20 patients of dog bite were coming to the hospital every day.

The taluka Nazim said the poisonous pills used to kill the dogs had been ordered from Lahore.
