Drive to eliminate aerial firing

PESHAWAR, Nov 19: A local NGO has launched a mass awareness campaign to educate people about the aerial firing which have claimed many precious lives, particularly in the Frontier.

The Community Appraisal and Motivation Programme in collaboration with the City District Government Peshawar launched the one-week mass awareness drive with a commitment to eradicate the menace of aerial firing in the society, said a press release.

District Nazim Azam Afridi in his message appealed to the people to refrain from aerial firing on the eve of Eids, marriages and other occasions.

The nazim urged ulema to educate people about the danger of aerial firing in Friday sermons.

CAMP Programme Manager Muhammad Amin said that his organization was struggling to equip the young generation with education instead of weapons.
