RAWALPINDI, Nov 19: Burglars on Wednesday struck at four different places in Rawalpindi and made off with cash, jewellry and electronic goods, police said.
Ameer Afzal, a resident of Westridge, lodged a complaint with the police saying that burglars broke into his house in his absence and decamped with $3,000 and Rs30,000 in cash, prize bonds worth Rs40,000, mobile phone set and gold jewellery.
Asim Zia, lodged a similar report with the Westridge police saying that some unknown thieves broke into his house in the absence of his family and took away, computer monitor, television device, speakers, mobile telephone, iron, two blankets, and some documents.
Likewise, burglars broke into Mohammad Khalid’s house in the Airport police area and took away gold ornaments and other valuables.
In another incident, some unknown burglars entered the house of Mohammad Suleman in the Airport police area and decamped with gold ornaments, two cameras, two wrist watches and Rs30,000 in cash.
Meanwhile, a student was killed after being run over by a heavy dumper in Westridge on Wednesday, police said.
Mudassar Raza, a student of 1st year was waiting for a bus when a dumper (GLTA-885) knocked him down. As a result, he was killed on the spot while the dumper driver escaped from the scene.
