KARACHI: Inquiry into prisoner’s death demanded


KARACHI, Nov 19: Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Ms Raheela Tiwana has demanded inquiry into the apparent suicide of a woman, Bilqis, in the lockup of women police station in Karachi.

Ms Tiwana said that a mother of three daughters could not commit suicide in such circumstances, in a letter to the governor Sindh, the home secretary and the IG police.

She called for immediate suspension and arrest of police officials who showed negligence in their duties or were allegedly involved in the murder.—PPI
