ZTBL book place in main round

LAHORE, Nov 18: The match between Service Industries and Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Patron’s Trophy Inter-departmental qualifying round ended in draw at LCCA Ground on Tuesday.

The match started after lunch as the entire second day (Monday) was washed out due to Sunday night rain.

Service Industries resumed their first innings at 222 for eight wickets and declared it at 245 for nine.

HEC were 101 for three in 28 overs when the regulation time completed.

Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) entered the main round as top team of pool “C”, beating Railways by seven wickets, according to a message received here.

ZTBL, who had taken 91-run lead on first innings, needed 76 after bowling out Railways for 166 in the second innings. Paceman Muhammad Siddique claimed five for 61 while leg-spinner Raheel Majeed snared three for 19.

ZTBL achieved the target for the loss of three wickets scoring 76 in 17.1 overs.

The match between Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and National Bank of Pakistan(NBP) also ended in draw due to rains.
