FAISALABAD, Nov 18: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has decided to introduce a new postgraduate degree course — MSc population sciences — from the next academic session.

The graduates having sociology, economics, psychology, philosophy, home economics, social work and statistics as one of the subjects in BA from any recognized university can apply for admission. The graduates of the Agri varsity in all disciplines are eligible to apply for admission.

The last date for submitting application forms is Nov 29.

BUDGET: Syndicate members of the University of Agriculture have finalized the annual budget estimates and details of income for the presentation of the same before the senate for approval.

At a meeting held here on Monday under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Dr Riaz Husain Qureshi, the university treasurer said a plan had been conceived to computerize the record regarding salaries, finance, budget, income, expenditure, accounting, funds, pension and other related matters for the convenience of the employees as well as to upgrade the standard of the treasury section. The project would be completed in the year 2003-2004.

He said an amount of Rs35.229 million had already been received for funding research projects out of which Rs10.874 million had been spent accordingly. The research work on a number of projects was going on while scores of national and international funding agencies had assured maximum cooperation for this task.
