LAHORE, Nov 17: Not a single ball was bowled on second day of the match between Service Industries and Higher Education Commission (HEC) in the Patron’s Trophy Inter-departmental qualifying round at LCCA Ground on Monday due to overnight rain.
The wicket and square was wet due to the heavy rain. As the covers at the LCCA ground are old the water had seeped through it making the pitch unplayable.
The two umpires M. H. Dars and Khurram Aziz made the inspection of the wickets for three times before calling the second day as abandoned.
Superb knocks by Raheel Majeed (92), Zeeshan Mohsin (78) and Shahid Yousaf (74 not out) helped Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) to earn 91-run lead on first innings against according to a message.
ZTBL who started the first innings at 27 without loss declared at 337 for eight in 82.1 in reply to Railways’s 26.
Railways in the second innings were 13 for one when the stumps were drawn for the day.
