QUETTA, Nov 17: Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf has announced a special development package of Rs610 million for the uplift of tribal areas.
Out of the total amount Rs440 million would be spent on various development projects in Kohlu township, while Rs170 million has been allocated for Puzza area of the Kohlu district.
The federal government would also spend Rs650 million on the construction of Sibi-Kohlu road which was approved by the ECNEC.
He made the announcement while speaking at public gatherings held at both the townships on Monday.
The chief minister said that his government believed in development of all the areas of the province and was providing all basic facilities to the people without any discrimination.
He said that Kohlu and Puzza were rich in natural resources but in the past none of the governments had paid attention for resolving the problems of the people and providing basic facilities to them.
He said that despite having gas and other natural resources the standard of the people’s life did not improve. “It is right of the people of Dera Bugti, Sui and Kohlu to get benefit from the development being launched by the present government,” Mr Yousuf added.
He said that the provincial government was utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order to continue the development process. “We will not give any relaxation to the terrorists and saboteurs,” he said.
However, he said that no government could deal with such elements without the help and cooperation of the people.
