RAWALPINDI, Nov 16: Both the Patron’s Trophy qualifying round matches between PTCL and ARL and the KRL-PTV fixture were disrupted because of rain and bad light on Sunday’s opening day.

At the KRL Cricket Stadium, only 47 overs were possible because of poor light with KRL scoring 184 for six after being asked to bat first by PTV. Yasir Arafat scored an unbeaten 48 while Muhammad Ramzan added 30 in the time available.

Paceman Khalid Latif was the successful bowler picking up three wickets for 44 runs and Adil Shaheen, another pacer, had two for which he conceded 42 runs.

PTCL put on 135 for one after being put in to bat by ARL in their match at the Shalimar Ground in Islamabad. Bad light followed by rain restricted play to 31 overs, in which Naved Latif hit up 44 and Babar Naeem stroked 41 not out. The day’s only wicket went to Sohail Tanveer.

Summarised scores:

At KRL Cricket Ground, Rawalpindi: KRL 184-6 in 47 overs (Yasir Arafat 48 not out, Muhammad Ramzan 30, Intikhab Alam 26; Khalid Latif 3-44, Adil Shaheen 2-42) v PTV.
