Motorcyclist shot dead by robbers

OKARA, Nov 16: A motorcyclist was shot dead by three highwaymen for not stopping the vehicle here on Sunday.

Abdul Waseem along with his cousin Sohail was going to his Chak 48/3-R from his city residence in Model Housing Society by motorcycle (OKA-5822). Near the LBDC bridge, armed highwaymen signalled them to stop but Sohail pushed up the speed.

The robbers opened fire on them, killing Waseem on the spot. Later, the robbers snatched the bike from Sohail and fled.

Police sent the body to the local DHQ Hospital for autopsy.

RECOVERED: Acting on a tip-off, the Okara police recovered 500 bottles of liquor after a raid from a house at Chak 30/2-RA.

Police arrested Muhammad Aslam while his accomplice Zulfiqar managed to escape from the scene.

Sadar police have registered a case.
