30 Hesco defaulters arrested

DADU, Nov 16: At least 30 Hesco defaulters were arrested, FIRs of power theft were registered against five businessmen, and 50 illegal power connections were disconnected by Hesco officials during raids at various places in Dadu city on Sunday.

On special directives, the Hesco chief, Brig (retd) Tariq Arshad, and the Hesco division, Dadu, have started an operation against Hesco defaulters to recover Rs2 million in arrears throughout the sub-divisions of Hesco Dadu-I and II, Johi, Sehwan, Mehar, and Khairpur Nathan Shah.

Hesco special teams, led by Executive Engineer Ghulam Mustafa Soomro, Revenue Officer Malik Aftab and SDO Dadu-I Ghulam Qadir Pathan, started raiding ice factories, big hotels, shops, and bungalows.

They registered two FIRs, under section 39 Electricity Act, against five big influential businessmen. They were Jan Mohammad Abbasi, Noor Mohammad Abbasi, Mohammad Ramzan Suhag, Hussain Bux Langah, and Shaman Sakhirani.

They arrested 30 Hesco defaulters which included Sultan Jamali, Maula Bux Magsi and Nazeer Ahmed.
