HYDERABAD, Nov 16: Various parts of the city are witnessing traffic jam almost daily particularly before Iftar.

Areas which remained badly affected by traffic congestion include Lajpat Road, Tilak Incline, Station Road, Fakir-jo-Pir, Kohinoor Chowk, Sabzi Mandi Chowk, Bacha Khan Chowk, Qazi Abdul Qayyum Road, Risala Road and Kali Road.

Encroachments by pushcart venders have multiplied the problems of pedestrians.

Fruit sellers are doing their business on the main roads without any interference from police officials.

Traffic police constables are seen only in some selected areas such as Lajpat Road, Saddar and the Cantonment shopping areas.

Traffic jams on the main roads force motorcyclists and rickshaw drivers to take other routes which further aggravate the situation.

Besides, smoke-emitting vehicles create a host of problems for others whereas parking of vehicles at no-parking zones also remains unnoticed by those regulating traffic.

Nazim: Taluka Nazim Latifabad Abdul Jabbar Khan here on Saturday inspected development works in union council-3 and issued directives for expediting development schemes.

Union council Nazim Fayyaz Khan and executive engineers of sewerage system and water supply accompanied him.
