SAINT NAZAIRE (France) Nov 16: The death toll in the collapse of a walkway on the Queen Mary II stands at 15, said a spokesman for Alstom, which owns the shipyard.
Alston had earlier said that 16 people died but later revised the toll. It gave no explanation for the change.
A total of 30 people who were injured in the tragedy remained in hospital, one of them in a critical condition, according to Alstom. The 10-metre walkway from the quayside to the ship had been constructed just the day before it broke during a visit by relatives of shipyard construction workers. —AFP
