KARACHI: Illegal hydrants banned


KARACHI, Nov 15: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has imposed a ban on illegal hydrants near Nishtar Road, Jamshed Town, for seven days under section 144.

A compliant was made to the city Nazim that the water which being supplied from the hydrants was not fit for human consumption, and the tankers obtaining water from there were causing serious damage to the carpeting of the roads.

The Nazim has also banned the entry of heavy vehicles in the city under section 144, from 7am to 9am and 3pm to 6pm.

Excavation of sand (rati-bajri) in the limits of Karachi has too been banned for the seven days.

Three more members have been included in the 14-member committee formed by the city government to fix the prices of vegetables and fruit. The new members are Maulana Ahmed Hussain, chairman Zakat and Ushr Committee of Korangi Town UC-3, Zahid Hussain Daudpota and Zafar Khan.

The city government has designated powers of first class magistrate to two more DDOs (revenue). — PPI#
