UK changes visa rules

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 14: The British high commission has announced that applicants from some more categories might apply for visas to visit the United Kingdom from Nov 17.

According to the announcement, the categories comprise: those who have visited the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the United States within the last 10 years; European Union dependents; fiances of persons settled in the UK; and dependents of persons granted leave to enter or remain in the UK as refugees.

Information and application forms are available on the visa pages of the high commission’s website (www.britainonline.org.pk).

Announcing the changes, British High Commissioner Mark Lyall Grant said: “This extension to the visa service is another step towards our goal of providing full service by spring 2004. I hope to be able to announce further steps in the next few months.”
