Fleming to miss today’s decider

HYDERABAD (India), Nov 14: New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming will miss Saturday’s deciding one-day tri-series game against India with a stomach injury, coach Ashley Ross said on Friday.

Fleming aggravated the problem during the tournament, Ross told reporters, adding it was too early to say whether the left-handed batsman would be fit if the team reached Tuesday’s final against Australia.

“We...hope he will be available for the rest of the tour,” Ross said. New Zealand are scheduled to play a one-day series in Pakistan after leaving India.

All rounder Chris Cairns, who has missed the last two matches with a hamstring injury, will return to lead the side in Saturday’s day-nighter.
