ISLAMABAD, Nov 14: The Pakistan Railways (PR) has decided to run three special trains from Rawalpindi to Lahore in order to clear extra rush on Eidul Fitr.
This was stated by Divisional Commercial Officer, Pakistan Railways Rawalpindi, Habibur Rehman here on Thursday.
The special Eid trains have been arranged to facilitate the intending passengers of Rawalpindi/Islamabad area, enabling them to go to Lahore for celebrating Eid at their hometown.
The trains will run on November 23, 24 and 25 from Rawalpindi Railway Station at 3:30pm and reach Lahore at 8pm. The trains will have stopovers at Jhelum, Lalamusa, Gujrat and Gujranwala.
Each train will comprise one AC parlour coach with the capacity of 52 seats, two AC lower class coaches accommodating 100 people each and five economy class coaches with capacity of 90 seats each.
The fare of AC parlour, AC lower and economy class from Rawalpindi to Lahore is Rs300, Rs200 and Rs100, respectively.
Meanwhile, the railway administration has constituted special teams to conduct surprise raids on trains to check persons travelling without tickets.
The administration has also requested the intending passengers to make advance reservation to avoid inconvenience. The reservation will commence from November 14.
