KARACHI: Need stressed to adopt international standards

KARACHI, Nov 14: There is a need to adopt all international standards in order to compete in the international market.

This was stated by Director General of National Institute of Labour Administration Training (NILAT), Syed Hakim Ali Shah Bukhari at the closing ceremony of a three-day course on “ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System” on Friday.

The course was held under the auspices of NILAT for senior and middle level officers both from the private and the public sectors in order to help them enhance their skills by understanding the latest concepts of ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System.

Mr Bukhari said the important international standards include ISO 9001-2000 quality standards, ISO 14000 Environment Standards, International Labour Standards and International Occupational Health and Safety Standards.

He asked the participants of the course to share the knowledge they had acquired in the process with their colleagues and management of the organization so that efficiency and productivity could be enhanced.—APP
