605 more Pakistanis deported by Oman

MUSCAT, Nov 13: Oman has deported 605 Pakistanis for entering the country illegally, newspapers reported on Thursday.

Omani police, in collaboration with the army, arrested the Pakistanis as they were trying to enter the country.

It was the largest single arrest and deportation of Pakistani immigrants from Oman.

The police regularly announce swoops on infiltrators into the sultanate, which has a 1,700 kilometres long coastline, and where foreigners account for a quarter of the population.
