Indian allegation denied

NEW DELHI, Nov 11: Pakistan’s Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Tuesday denied US and Indian claims that Pakistan was harbouring global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.

“Dawood is not in Pakistan. Tell us where he is. He is not our national,” Rashid told India’s state-run television broadcaster Doordarshan.

“He may be a problem or a big issue for India. But he is not important to us,” added Rashid, in India for a South Asia information ministers’ meeting.

“We say he is not there in Karachi,” Rashid told Doordarshan.

Rashid’s visit to India is the first by a Pakistani minister since President Pervez Musharraf visited for a summit with Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in July 2001.—AFP
