PTCL crush PTV

RAWALPINDI, Nov 10: PTCL finished off PTV before lunch on Monday completing an innings and 50-run victory in their Patron’s Trophy Qualifying Round match at the KRL Stadium.

Starting the final day at a precarious 122 for seven after being forced to follow on, PTV were sent packing for 199 with only Rashid Amin Butt who scored 68 and Taj Muhammad with 49 being the decent contributors.

Muhammad Khalil did the mopping up with two wickets for 36 runs. Muhammad Hussain had three wickets, all of which he claimed on the second day of the match.

In another game at the Army Cricket Ground, Army were handed a 170-run defeat by POF, Mazhar Malik achieving impressive figures of six for 40. Armaghan Elahi took three for 32.

Army who needed a massive 333 runs for victory on the third and last day of the match, fell for 162, Zubair Wattoo topscoring with 46.

PTCL 407-8 dec in 64 overs (Babar Naeem 170, Naved Latif 100; Suleman Khan 4-90, Rashid Amin Butt 2-33)

PTV 158 in 60.4 overs (Rashid Amin 94; Muhammad Khalil 4-38, Muhammad Hussain 2-31, Riaz Afridi 2-34) and 199 in 56.2 overs (Rashid Amin Butt 68, Taj Muhammad 49 not out; Muhammad Hussain 3-34, Muhammad Khalil 2-36, Riaz Afridi 2-50). PTCL win by an innings and 50 runs.

At Army Cricket Ground, Rawalpindi:

POF 248 in 79.2 overs (Ahsan Masud 75, Imran Ali 72, Akhlaq Ahmed 46 not out; Zubair Wattoo 4-63, Azhar Bhatti 3-26, Muhammad Bilal 3-36) and 196-6 dec in 41 overs (Ahsan Masud 77, Usman Tahir 30; Capt Ehsan 2- 32)
