Dashing 102 by Kamran

KARACHI, Nov 9: A dashing unbeaten knock of 102 by Imran Hussain coupled with a stylish innings of 52 not out by Ahmed, enabled Late Ismail Jafar CC score a thumping 10-wicket victory over Rafiq Shirazi CC, in the First Ramazan-ul-Mubarak Super Cup Colour Kit cricket league played on Sunday at the Students Sports ground.

Rafiq Shirazi CC did extremely well in scoring 176 runs for the loss of only four wickets in 25 overs with Saad Umar (78) and Rao Waseem (68) in good nick with the willow.

But with Kamran and Ahmed in tremendous form, Late Ismail Jafar CC raced to a 10-wicket triumph, in reaching 177 runs for the loss of no wicket in just 20 overs.

In a match played in the afternoon session, Javed Kashmiri Academy notched up their first victory in the tournament by brushing aside Nissan Munir CC by just 16 runs.

With Nariman scoring an attractive knock of 55, Godrich Umrigar weighing in with (25) and Saqlain (20). Javed Kashimiri Acadamy were dismissed for 173 runs in 24.3 overs. Azhar Shah picked up three wickets for 29 runs and Nisar two for 35 for the fielding side.

Taking up the challenge of scoring 174 runs for victory, Nissan Munir CC were restricted to 157 runs for the loss of eight wickets, losing the match by only 16 runs, although Azmat scored (43), Azhar Shah (34 n.o.) and Rehan Ahmed (21).

Saghir three for 11 and Godrich Umrigar two for 24, made victory possible for Javed Kashmiri Acadamy.

Monday’s fixture: M.Z. Khan v/s Hill Park CC at 1.15 p.m.
