Boy thrashed by police

SARGODHA, Nov 9: A teenaged cyclist was thrashed by Eagle Squad No 6 personnel on Saturday night near PAF Chowk after he was hit by policemen on a motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses told this correspondent that a boy, coming from Sohnipura on a bicycle, was hit by an Eagle Squad No 6 policeman on motorcycle. The policemen beat up the boy with fist and kicks. The policemen left the place when he fell unconscious.

The boy, later identified as 16-year-old Ali Raza, was taken to hospital where he was in coma.

The policemen were threatening the family of boy with dire consequences if the complaint, lodged against them with the DPO, was not withdrawn.

It may be mentioned that the Eagle Squad had been provided motorcycles by the citizens for chasing culprits and outlaws.
