MARDAN, Nov 9: The NWFP government has provided funds through a special package for different schemes for 23 villages in the Takhtbai tehsil.

MNA Maulana Qasim, one of the leaders of the Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal, said this while talking with journalists here on Sunday.

He said that the funds were released on the directives of chief minister Akram Khan Durrani.

Schemes, he said, included establishment of a telephone exchange, a girls college, upgradation of schools, improvement of rural health centres and provision of gas and clean drinking water.

He said that funds had been released to improve the traffic management while the Rural Health Centre at the Takhtbai town would be upgraded to tehsil headquarters hospital, the basic health units in Shergarh and Gujjar Garhi would be upgraded to RHC level.
