WANA :11 escape from jail

WANA (South Waziristan Agency), Nov 9: Eleven outlaws including two Afghans escaped from a prison in Wana on Sunday, officials said.

An official said they had overpowered the Khasadar force personnel when the prison gate was opened to serve Sehri to the inmates.

Sources said the prisoners snatched two Kalashnikovs and keys from Khasadars and escaped from the jail through the main gate. One personnel sustained minor injuries.

The escaped prisoners have been identified as Murtaza, Doost Mohammad, Habibullah, Noorgai, Ghafar, Khair Zaman, Nizamuddin, Gul Mohammad and Faqir while the name of two others could not be identified.

The officials said the escaped prisoners belonged to Mehsud and Wazir tribes.

Agency political administrator suspended jail incharge Farooq while seven other Khasadars were imprisoned.
